CJ is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Supervision credential (LPCC-S) in the state of Ohio and has been practicing as a counselor since 2013. He graduated with his Master’s degree in community mental health from Heidelberg University where he was also a full time track and field coach. In 2020 CJ completed his doctorate in Counselor Education at The Ohio State University, with a research agenda focusing on how individuals pursue and achieve goals that improve their personal wellness.
Clinically, CJ's primary background is serving clients with concerns related to substance use, as well as those who have experience serving in the nation’s military. Beyond this, CJ also has experience working with children, teenagers, adults, couples and families who may be experiencing a wide variety of issues including: adjustment disorders, anxiety and depression, trauma and PTSD, personality disorders, substance abuse, anger management, court-ordered counseling, and many others.
He is currently a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Association for Counselor Educators and Supervisors (ACES), and a Certified Wellness Counselor (CWC).
