Healing, growth, and change. Goals everyone wants to achieve. However, the process of achieving these goals is not clear, quick, or easy. I am someone who has travelled alongside many kinds of people in their pursuit of these goals. Like a dance, sometimes you take a step forward, sometimes backward, and even sideways. Real change is hard won, and not always a straight path. Compassion, perspective, and self-forgiveness are difficult. We make ourselves the exception to the rule of forgiveness and empathy that we so often show others. I am here to help provide you with tools, be your cheerleader, and help look at problems in a whole new light.
I am an individual, couple and family therapist with years of experience finding solutions for difficult problems in homes and individuals’ lives. As a LPC I have practiced my work among families struggling with intergenerational trauma, substance abuse, and conflict. My specialties with individuals include mood disorders, attachment disorders, dual diagnosis, and substance abuse. My proficiencies in Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness can be used to provide new ways to look at problems and find solutions. I have worked both in Virginia and Ohio as a licensed clinician, graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Masters in Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and Milligan College with a Bachelor in Arts in Religion. My experience is mostly in the community, working with foster children, families dealing with substance abuse and trauma, and individuals with mood disorders.
