Hi, my name is Devyn! I am a licensed social worker in the state of Ohio. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Kentucky, and recently received my master’s degree in social work from the University of Cincinnati. My decision to pursue a career in behavioral health and counseling was born out of a passion to create a space in which folks might feel heard, seen, and deeply valued for who they are.
I have been in the counseling field for 2 years. In the course of my career, I have provided advocacy for survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, stalking, harassment, and trafficking. I have provided counseling services, both individual and group-based, for clients with a variety of life experiences and concerns including anxiety, depression, substance use, interpersonal conflict, emotion dysregulation, and various adjustment issues.
My primary areas of focus include intimate partner violence/domestic violence, trauma, LGBTQIA+ concerns, women’s concerns, anxiety/depression, and life changes. I would say that my clinical approach is client-centered, narrative-based, and empowerment/strengths focused. In other words, you are the expert of your life experiences and have inherent strengths within you that deserve to be understood and honored
