Diane Young is a is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. Diane obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia and her Master of Social Work Degree from St. Louis University.
Throughout her career Diane has worked in numerous settings with a diverse range of clients. She has provided individual and group therapy to children, adolescents and adults in a community mental health center, has experience in community-based therapy, residential treatment, day treatment programming, foster care, and independent living programs.
Diane enjoys working with people experiencing a variety of challenges including depression, anxiety, trauma, behavior problems, peer conflicts, bipolar disorder, suicidal thoughts, and self-harm. She takes a client centered approach and draws from several therapeutic modalities including CBT, REBT and Solution Focused Therapy. She understands the impact of trauma and always works through a trauma responsive lens.
Diane views therapy as a learning and skill building process. In therapy, she will take a compassionate, strength base approach in working with you to build the skills you need to achieve your goals.
