I view therapy as a support to help you handle life when it might seem too difficult to bear by yourself. My role as your therapist is to be your partner and to help you carry the weight of life until you are able to carry it on your own. We will work together to build the tools and techniques you need to thrive. I enjoy being there for my clients to help them through the hard days and to celebrate the good days.
I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a supervisor designation. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Ohio State University. The bulk of my professional experience has been in a hospital setting working with children, teenagers, parents, families, and older adults. I also have experience in outpatient community mental health and individual therapy.
I specialize in helping individuals who are battling medical conditions to cope with their emotions and manage everyday life. I also work with family members, friends, and loved ones of someone who has chronic or acute medical needs and healthcare
professionals who are struggling with moral distress, compassion fatigue, and burnout. Although this is my specialty, I also enjoy working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, adjustment disorders, stress management, family stress, relationship changes, and a general feeling of needing someone to talk to. I practice with a strengths based and solution focused approach, often using motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness approaches. I am a compassionate and non-judgmental therapist who will allow space for you to process your thoughts and emotions and challenge you to change when needed.
I look forward to working with you!
